A small business jet slammed into a parked plane as it arrived at Scottsdale Airport in Arizona, just east of Phoenix, on Monday afternoon, leaving at least one person dead and multiple others injured.

According to a spokesperson for the singer, Vince Neil, the frontman of Mötley Crüe, owns the approaching aircraft. Worrick Robinson, the spokesperson, told CNN that Neil was not onboard.

According to municipal spokesman Kelli Kuester, three people were injured and one person died in the collision. Earlier, officials stated four people were injured. According to Kuester, the three injured were sent to hospitals.

Capt. David Folio of the Scottsdale Fire Department stated on Monday that the deceased victim’s body is still being removed by responders. The names of those on board have not been made public by the police.

“The accident seems to have been caused by the left main gear failing upon landing,” she stated.

According to Kuester, the National Transportation Safety Board is on the scene and is in charge of the incident’s investigation. The NTSB merely stated that it is looking into the matter in response to a CNN question.

Especially during major events like the Waste Management Phoenix Open golf tournament last weekend, which bills itself as the world’s largest zero-waste sporting event, Scottsdale Airport is a popular aviation hub for private planes arriving and departing the Phoenix area.

Following the disaster, the F.A. temporarily suspended flights into the single-runway airport; however, a post from Scottsdale Airport’s X account indicates that the runway reopened late Monday.

The incident comes after a string of aviation catastrophes in recent weeks, including a medevac jet crash in Philadelphia that claimed seven lives and a deadly midair collision near Washington, DC, that killed all 67 persons on board both aircraft.
